3 Design Styles For You

Here at Walker Woodworking, we have worked with numerous clients over the last twenty years and have seen multiple design styles, each with its own unique beauty. Everyone has their own special style that deserves to be reflected in their home, but sometimes, it is hard to narrow it down. We wanted to highlight three, each with different elements, but creating a beautiful project.

Rustic Design Style

This design style embraces nature’s beauty and is versatile enough to work in multiple areas of the home. It is defined by natural materials such as wood beams and stone, and by neutral or light colors. Comfort is at the core of this design style and is often reflected in the choice of furnishings. The old vibe is back with this choice, such as original flooring, beautiful brick, and exposed beams. Rustic is not an outdated design style; instead, it incorporates the beauty of the past with the convenience of the present. If you treasure history and enjoy the warmth of nature, this is the style for you.

Contemporary Design Style

Many may think that ‘Contemporary’ is another word for ‘modern’. While they share some similarities, such as minimal pieces and black, white, and neutral color palettes, there are enough differences to distinguish them. The contemporary design style thrives on simplistic elements such as clean lines and sufficient light. While clutter is not part of this style, art is encouraged, as it adds beautiful focal points to the room and visual interest. Rugs and pillows add a touch of warmth to the design, but super colorful or bright prints are not encouraged, as they detract from the style. Consider a leather chair or maybe some simple colored window treatments. If you enjoy clean looks and simple colors, this style is perfect for you.

Traditional Design Style

Of all the design styles, this is the timeless one because it has been around for a while and is still used by many people. The goal of this style is to create a harmonious and orderly space. Unified space is the perfect reflection of symmetry and calm. While the walls may be neutral, there is no lack of color; it just comes from the items inside the room, from rugs to furniture. It’s no surprise that tradition makes its way into this design, after all, it is in the name, meaning that there will be details that harken back to another time, such as wingback chairs and elegant decor pieces. If you enjoy a classy, sleek, and familiar design, traditional design is precisely what you need.

It Is Up To You!

Your home is yours and meant to reflect you. You must discuss your preferences with your designer so that they can help you create a space that feels like home. Kitchen style. Throughout the years, the kitchen has been the heart of the home, the place where delicious meals were cooked and served with love. It has also remained a place where memories are made, achievements are celebrated, and it invokes a warm, inviting atmosphere. One thing has changed, and that is my style.

Inset cabinets, because the doors are inside the frame, look like elegant furniture pieces, giving the space a luxurious feel. If you are looking for cabinets that will stand the test of time, inset cabinets are for you.

The kitchen island offers more than just a workspace when cooking dinner. It provides additional storage and even seating. An island is a versatile element in the kitchen that can adapt to almost any size, allowing you to maximize the use of your square footage.

Closets are usually a key selling point in any home, making a custom closet a valuable addition since buyers are looking for functional spaces in the house. Custom closets are not just a great space in your home, but are also an investment if you ever choose to sell.

Countertops are essential to any bathroom or kitchen design and deliver several great benefits to the homeowner. They have evolved to become more than just a work surface.
