Picture Frame Molding
With guidance from the rediscovered blueprints, Walker Woodworking and Webb Construction reconstructed the sun parlor precisely. Our custom cabinetry was added around the fireplace mantle, and two bookcases were crafted to match the 1920s aesthetic. We worked hard to reveal the long-forgotten archways from the original design and dismantled a false wall to unveil two stunning intact archways. Taylor’s design, rooted in the blueprints, seamlessly integrated modern elements like robust walnuts to add texture to the cabinetry and bookcases.
The textured wall around the fireplace mantle was created through a meticulous fusion of handcrafted elements and modern technology. Each rectangle was intricately shaped, with angles precisely aligned to achieve the desired 45-degree perfection. This approach ensured an elegant and refined outcome that mirrored the original 1920s design. The intrinsic value of employing handcrafted elements lies in the ability to recreate identical rectangles and the precision of cutting each angle.
